Subjects of articles include San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, New Jersey minor league baseball, St. Regis High School of New York, and the killing of New Jersey teacher Christine Burns, whose murder was solved one month after the article appeared. Also the author of The City & County: A Novel of San Francisco Newsmakers (Dry Bones Press, 2001).

5/97-1/99            THE PRESS ENTERPRISE, Riverside, CA. - Reporter - Covered criminal courts and judicial issues, regularly reporting on death penalty cases, wrongful death suits, and the inner workings of local courts. Juggled an average of 30 to 35 local cases at a time, following each from arraignment to sentencing. Also reported on city government for this 180,000 circ. daily. After covering three local school districts for two years, promoted to cover city government and local community college. Broke story of local schools superintendent resignation prior to announcement and revealed college business administrator forced from previous job.

4/88-10/90 THE DAILY JOURNAL, Elizabeth, N.J. - Reporter Covered city government and education beats of several suburban communities for this 32,000 circ. daily newspaper. After covering three smaller towns, promoted to top beat, Elizabeth City Hall. Reported on major school redistricting plan in Hillside, N.J., the trial of convicted Westfield, N.J. killer John List, and deadly barge explosion off of the Linden, N.J. waterfront. Also served as only Sunday reporter for entire time.

7/94-5/97 KPFA RADIO, Berkeley, CA. - Anchor/Reporter - Wrote and produced news segments for half-hour news program. Also anchored half of newscasts. Reported on national and international stories that included; Mexican national elections, U.S. involvement in Rwanda and Bosnia, and the deaths of former California Gov. Edmund "Pat" Brown and Israel Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.

1/93-5/97 TCI CABLEVISION, San Francisco, CA. Weekly Commentator- Regular participant on "City Desk," an award-winning weekly round-table discussion program focusing on city issues. Discussion spanned all San Francisco area issues.
