Joe interviewed Shirley Sherrod, the agriculture department director whose speech was edited and posted online, drawing unfair criticism and the loss of her job. In the interview, Sherrod first reveals to Joe that conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart and Fox News never checked with her before posting the tape. She also first refers to Fox News as 'racist'.
Joe is now working full-time for Media Matters for America. The progressive media watchdog site launched in 2004 and has made a name for itself as a clear and accurate fact-checker of conservative news outlets.
So far, Joe has reported on coverage of Al Gore, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and numerous press issues ranging from The Washington Post ombudsman to Sean Hannity's ties to Tea Party events.
