The article took a Gold Medal in the Regional Magazine category.

Joe Appears On Fox's News Watch For Sixth Time Plus Radio Interview on Palin
Joe made his sixth appearance on Fox News Watch this week. The media roundtable show airs Saturday, Sept. 6, on Fox News Channel at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.  He also was interviewed at length on WHAS Radio in Louisville Friday, Sept. 5 about coverage of Sarah Palin.

Joe Appears On Fox's News Watch
Joe appeared on Fox News Channel's weekly media talk roundtable on Saturday night, Fox News Watch. Joe was one of four panelists for the half-hour discussion, which also included syndicated columnist Cal Thomas, conservative writer James Pinkerton and Fox News personality Kirsten Powers. Joe had appeared previously on Fox's The O'Reilly Factor, but this was his first time on the half-hour show, in which the group discussed the Obama/Clinton unity rally, polling of the election, The Supreme Court decision on gun rights and Don Imus' latest troubles.

Strupp Finalist In Syracuse Journalism Award
Joe was in a finalist in the 2008 Syracuse University S.I. Newhouse School of Communications Mirror Awards, which honor coverage of the press and media issues. The awards were given on June 23 in New York City. Joe's profile of Associated Press Executive Editor Kathleen Carroll garnered him a finalist nod in the best profile category, which also included entries from The New York Times and New York Magazine.

This marks the second finalist award for Joe, who also took home a similar honor in 2007 for best series with his two-part report on the merging of Web and print reporting at newspapers.
